Variety announces the Check It Indiegogo campaign

Variety announced the Indiegogo campaign for the documentary ‘Check It’ in an article by Dave McNary. Check It, directed by Dana Flor and Toby Oppenheimer, follows a gang of gay and transgendered African American youth struggling to survive in one of Washington D.C’s toughest neighborhoods. Members of Check It are tired of the violent life they’ve been forced to lead, and are trying to breakout of this cycle by establishing their own fashion line. The filmmakers hope to raise $60,000 to finish editing the film. Vann Alexandra is managing the crowdfunding campaign. The full article can be read at Variety.

The Independent analyzes Joan Didion’s recipe book

Samuel Muston delved into Joan Didion’s recipe book in an article for the Independent. Of particular interest to Muston was Didion’s parsley salad recipe, which was portioned to serve 35 to 40 people. The recipes were offered as a $50 reward during the Kickstarter campaign for “We Tell Ourselves Stories in Order to Live,” a Didion documentary directed by Griffin Dunne. Vibe highlights TLC’s Kickstarter campaign.

Camille Augustine highlighted the success of TLC’s Kickstarter campaign in a recent article for Vibe. The legendary R&B group turned to Kickstarter to fund their final album. Fans were treated to TLC exclusive rewards, including memorobillia, meet and greets, and more. TLC raised $430,000 out of an $150,000 goal. The full article can be found at Vibe.
