Borris Kacha shares the Joan Didion Kickstarter campaign with Vulture Magazine readers. Kacha notes the incredible early success of the campaign – reaching its goal of $80,000 in one day – and speculates on the motivation behind the campaign. Kacha explains that director Griffin Dunne wanted to make the film on his own terms and the money crowdfunded on Kickstarter will allow him to do so.
