Entertainment Weekly covers the Maya Angelou Documentary Kickstarter

Entertainment Weekly covered the Kickstarter campaign for the Maya Angelou Documentary in a recent article by Isabella Biedenharn. Biedenharn compares the campaign to the “ultra-successful” Joan Didion Kickstarter, which was also managed by Vann Alexandra. The directors of the Maya Angelou Documentary, Bob Hercules and Rita Coburn Whack, were close friends of Dr. Angelou’s and have been granted incredible access to her life. Thus, the film will not only capture Dr. Angelou’s impact on American culture, but will illuminate some of the lesser known aspects of her own life.
